Biography

Ir. Dr. Airil Yasreen Mohd Yassin is an Associate Professor at the School of EGIS and a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He teaches structural and water engineering as well as machine learning subjects with 23 years of experience in the academia. He obtained a PhD from the Imperial College London in structural engineering in 2007 and his research focuses are on computational mechanics, numerical methods and AI deep learning. He has co-authored two books on Finite Element Method and a book on structural steel design and published more than 60 research and scholarly articles. He was a senate member of the university and sits on the university disciplinary committee. He is the former Malaysia campus civil engineering Director of Studies and the past President of the Malaysian Society for Numerical Methods (MSNM).
