Description

DR KATRIN LOHAN, PROF STEVE FULLER & PROF ARTHUR I MILLER, CHAIRED BY DR DANIEL GLASER

How are we to move forward in the 21st century? The best way is for Artificial Intelligence and humans to collaborate to bring about revolutions in technology and culture. A first step is to build creative machines. Will such machines have emotions and consciousness? How will we communicate with them? And in the end will humans merge with machines?

Arthur I. Miller, a regular at Latitude’s Wellcome Hub, will discuss all this and more.
Professor Miller's forthcoming book is ‘Creativity and Genius in a World of Machines’. His books include ‘Colliding Worlds: How Cutting-Edge Science is Redefining Contemporary Art’; ‘Einstein, Picasso’; ‘Empire of the Stars’; and ‘137’. He writes for The Guardian and The New York Times. He is Professor Emeritus of History and Philosophy of Science at University College London.
