'Engineering the Future' - Interdisciplinary Research-led outreach project with Undergraduate students

Press/Media: Teaching

Description

The project aim is to build communities of creative STEM activity both within our schools (PhD students working with undergraduates) and across our community (Primary school children ‘briefing’ our undergraduates with their ideas for ‘Engineering the Future’: and then visiting the university to assess the results at the end!). A half-day fayre event is the culmination of the one-week ‘design sprint’ project, where 130 local children visited our 280+ undergrads, interacting with the 36 project stalls, our Robotics research team and some VR demonstrations.
