Invited presentation outlining the marine life now living on and in close proximity to the scuttled wrecks of the German High Seas fleet, 100 years after they were scuttled. The presentation brings in information collected by scientific divers, archaeological surveys and citizen science approaches. It highlights the special and rare species found living in close association with the wrecks and how some of the biogenic reefs that are surrounding the wreck and salvage sites, are now of conservation significance, due to their ability to sequester and store Blue Carbon, and act in a way to mitigate against climate change locally.
