Description

Since joining Heriot-Watt University on 14 May 2024, I have been an active member of the Research Centre for Urban Studies - RCUS (former Urban Institute), where I lead research on climate justice, Indigenous knowledge and participatory methodologies. I have submitted 11 funding applications, nine as Principal Investigator, and currently hold three active grants supporting my climate change research agenda (one grant and two additional funding). I currently supervise two PhD students (one as first supervisor and one as second supervisor), including a doctoral project that extends my climate justice research to Indigenous communities in Mexico. I also supervise 11 Master’s students and four final-year undergraduate dissertation students in the Geography course. Between 2023 and 2025, I completed the supervision of five Master’s students and eight final-year undergraduate dissertations. In addition, I have hosted and supervised two visiting doctoral researchers from Brazil (July–December 2025 and November–December 2025), contributing to international knowledge exchange and research capacity building within the Centre.
