Activity: Participating in or organising an eventParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

Come join us at ArtHouse Crouch End for the premiere of a short documentary entitled ‘Pushing the Boundary’. The film focuses on Dilesh Tanna, a young person with Down’s Syndrome, and the challenges he has faced in finding work. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of the film and the topics it raises concluding with an audience Q&A.

The film is part of an interdisciplinary research project on inclusivity and decent work. By using visual methods, it seeks to provide a voice to a group often spoken for but rarely heard from. This project is supported by The University of Glasgow and the Work Inclusivity Research Centre at University of Birmingham.

Collaborating on this project are Dilesh Tanna (independent researcher), Ella Wright (Department of Film and Creative Writing at University of Birmingham), Genevieve Coderre-LaPalme (lecturer in Human Resource Management at University of Glasgow), Rory Macpherson (learning disability community nurse), and Siwen Shen (MSc at University of Edinburgh).
