Grant amount $20,817 Principal Investigator and Test Developer. Responsibilities included: directing a team of researchers to improve: 1) hospital signage (English/Spanish), 2) written material in Spanish (either via translation of materials into Spanish, culturally adapting existing materials or re-creating written materials for Spanish-speaking Latinos living in the US), 3) oral communication (either via establishing interpreting programs or via increasing language capacity on the sites); and 4) designing tests to measure language proficiency of health-care providers.Period | 1 Feb 2002 → 15 Apr 2004 |
