Description
Between 14 and 19 December, I organised and led a programme of participatory activities in the Brazilian Amazon, in the state of Acre, working closely with Indigenous leaders from the communities collaborating in our research. The activities were carried out by a team of eight researchers and one audio support specialist. The programme included a series of workshops dedicated to the editing and narrative development of the project’s documentary film, as well as collective reflections on its representation and messaging. I also held a formal meeting with the Pro-Rector for Innovation and Technology at the Federal University of Acre, where I presented the project and discussed the foundations for a future academic collaboration agreement involving the Federal University of Acre, Heriot-Watt University, and the Federal University of Pelotas. The programme further included the presentation of Amazonian cartographies developed during the February–March 2025 expedition, alongside the exhibition of the 3D Amazon model, as well as discussions on the structure and content of the project’s forthcoming book. During this visit, miniature 3D Amazon models were gifted to Indigenous leaders, and strategic discussions were held on the next phase of the project, including the documentary film launch in Edinburgh and the development of an augmented reality application to project climate maps onto the mini models, extending the project’s impact and international reach.| Period | 14 Dec 2025 → 19 Dec 2025 |
