Parliamentary Reception - Autism Works! How to make employment inclusive

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

This reception will highlight the findings of new research by our partners, Professor Kate Sang and Dr James Richards, at Heriot-Watt University’s Centre for Research on Employment, Work, and the Professions. Their research explored what ‘fair work’ looks like for Scotland-based autistic employees and their managers. We will present evidence-based recommendations for employers and policy-makers. Cabinet Secretary, Neil Gray, will give a short talk about the national Fair Work Framework.

Into Work’s Autism Advisory Group, lived experience Trainers and local employers will also share inspiring experiences of the difference small changes can make to employers and employees. After the short talks, there will be opportunity to network with Members of the Scottish Parliament, employers promoting inclusion and Into Work staff and volunteers.
