National Leadership Development for Allied Health Professional (AHP) Leads Meeting - meeting for Leaders focused on within the NHS, such as the Senior Leadership Development Programme or meetings related to the AHP Strategy and workforce supply projects. The meeting was joined by colleagues from various AHP groups, including LD occupational therapy, dietetics, physiotherapy, music therapy, and SLT. Each attendee represented their board area and AHP colleagues.
The National Learning Disability Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Leads Group provides vision, collaborative strategic leadership and direction to all aspects of Learning Disability (LD) aligned to young people in transition, adults and older people. The group has a consultative role to boards and Scottish Government and will link to the Scottish AHP Directors Group (SDAHP), as required. The group may also have a consultative role to professional bodies and to higher education authorities, as required.
The work programme of the group will reflect current, relevant Scottish Government strategies, policies and priorities that will evolve over time and as they apply to AHPs working in learning disability services. The group will require to have awareness of new publications and ensure that they are in a position to provide a view and comment as necessary.
The National LD AHP Leads Group has AHP representation from all 14 territorial health boards, linking with areas Integrated Joint Boards (IJBs) and from the specialist boards. AHPs with national AHP/ uni-professional roles and other organisations relating to Learning Disability are represented.
