I was invited as a speaker to participate in the launch discussions of the new British Academy–Carnegie Endowment for International Peace international policy programme on Global (Dis)Order, representing my British Academy–funded project Amazon Indigenous Wisdom: Shaping Climate Solutions in Brazil. The online meeting, held on 18 June, formed part of the working group on transnational and planetary challenges, co-chaired by Harriet Bulkeley, Sarah Birch and Stewart Patrick, and brought together a highly selected group of scholars and policy experts. My contribution drew on Indigenous-led climate research in the Amazon to inform comparative discussions on (dis)order in earth system governance, highlighting how Indigenous knowledge systems and participatory methodologies can challenge dominant frameworks and offer alternative ways of thinking about global environmental governance in a rapidly transforming international system.
