Description
Between 16 and 19 December 2024, we carried out a cultural immersion programme in Pelotas, Brazil, as part of Work Package 2 (Objective 2) of the project Amazon Indigenous Wisdom: Shaping Climate Solutions in Brazil. This immersion was designed as a methodological co-design process, bringing together the research team to collectively reflect on ethics, positionality, intercultural engagement and knowledge exchange in preparation for the project’s future climate change expedition. Through embodied, place-based activities, group discussions and reflexive sessions, the immersion enabled the team to develop and test methodological approaches grounded in listening, relationality and respect for Indigenous knowledge systems. The experience played a critical role in shaping the participatory, decolonial and intercultural methodologies later applied in fieldwork with Indigenous communities in the Amazon, ensuring that the expedition was informed by shared principles, methodological coherence and ethical sensitivity.| Period | 16 Dec 2024 → 19 Dec 2024 |
