Through the ESRC-funded project Place-Making with Older People: Towards Age-Friendly Communities (PlaceAge), my research influenced municipal policy and professional practice related to ageing, mobility and inclusive urban design. Evidence of impact includes a public presentation of PlaceAge research findings at the Municipal Government of Pelotas (Brazil) on 19 September 2019, involving municipal officers and the wider community; a formal presentation to the Pelotas City Council (Brazil) on 24 October 2022, addressing ageing, urban inclusion and policy implications; and participation in the Urban95 Network at the Pelotas City Council on 29 March 2023, contributing research-based insights to international discussions on child-friendly and age-inclusive urban strategies. Together, these activities supported the translation of research into concrete age-friendly and inclusive urban policies at city level.
